After 10 minutes, Célio Mangueira made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Floresta Negra FC's Oséas Leme tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After 13 played minutes Joinville Esporte Clube got a freekick which was hit by Fausto Aguiar. Gabriel Freire received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Wellington Montenegro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 19 minutes of play, Joinville Esporte Clube's Deivid Vaz made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Oséas Leme was left in no man's land by his defense there! Joinville Esporte Clube's Gonçalo Catarinense got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Marco van Persie kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. Wellington Montenegro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mauro Proença in the 28th minute of play. 41 minutes into the match, Floresta Negra FC's goal looked a bit too open when Célio Mangueira came free, but Oséas Leme reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 42nd match minute, Floresta Negra FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Norberto Madureira to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Floresta Negra FC booed when Joinville Esporte Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Deivid Vaz didn't get a good kick on the ball.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Mauro Proença made a kick off. After some careless play in the Joinville Esporte Clube defense, Mauro Proença kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Wellington Montenegro. The Joinville Esporte Clube fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Wellington Montenegro should have stopped the shot. Oséas Leme showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Célio Mangueira, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. Wellington Montenegro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mauro Proença, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 75 minutes into the match, Joinville Esporte Clube's Célio Mangueira broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Oséas Leme showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Célio Mangueira, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. Oséas Leme took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Célio Mangueira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hélio Furtado was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 92 minutes into the match. After 93 played minutes Joinville Esporte Clube got a freekick which was hit by Hélio Furtado. Floresta Negra FC's Fausto Corrêa got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Joinville Esporte Clube were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Floresta Negra FC's much stronger midfield.
