Misericordia EC's Paulo Leão played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Deilmison van Basten in the 15th minute of play. Deilmison van Basten sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 23rd minute, Deilmison van Basten left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The ATHLETICO PRaiano fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. After some careless play in the Misericordia EC defense, Deilmison van Basten kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Paulo Leão. The Misericordia EC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Paulo Leão should have stopped the shot. Deilmison van Basten might have been able to make a better finish in the 30th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Paulo Leão. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Deilmison van Basten ran back to his position shaking his head. Paulo Leão took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Deilmison van Basten, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Deilmison van Basten came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the ATHLETICO PRaiano fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Deilmison van Basten couldn't finish the play. A collision led to ATHLETICO PRaiano getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Betão Marquez hit a great ball. Rodriguinho Sousa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zico Maravilha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 45th match minute, Misericordia EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ovidiu Tomoioagă to maneuver through the defense. In the 46th match minute, ATHLETICO PRaiano was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Denílson Magalhães to maneuver through the defense. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The wind increased when Deilmison van Basten made the kick off in the second half. ATHLETICO PRaiano's Vilhelm Skoog got a good chance for a goal in the 51st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Deilmison van Basten could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 53rd minute of the match, but Paulo Leão made a huge save. In the 56th minute Valdomiro Luz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rodriguinho Sousa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Misericordia EC's Aníbal Goiano got a free kick in the 60th minute. In the 62nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Misericordia EC's goalkeeper Paulo Leão, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 65th minute Zico Maravilha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rodriguinho Sousa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Misericordia EC's Paulo Leão proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 67th minute of the match, managed to save Misericordia EC from getting a goal against them. In the 70th minute, Deilmison van Basten ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Paulo Leão was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. 82 minutes into the match, ATHLETICO PRaiano's goal looked a bit too open when Pedro Luís Amaral came free, but Rodriguinho Sousa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Deilmison van Basten kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Paulo Leão. That made the score 0-4 in the 86 minute of play. 91 minutes into the game, Faustão Terra threw the ball into play from the sideline. ATHLETICO PRaiano's Deilmison van Basten quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. 93 minutes into the match, ATHLETICO PRaiano's goal looked a bit too open when Jeremias Tinoco came free, but Rodriguinho Sousa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A hard shot 95 in the game by Deilmison van Basten from a close distance when the talented Paulo Leão managed to make a qualified save. Misericordia EC's players were relieved. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched ATHLETICO PRaiano eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
