In the 41st minute of the match FFC Merainies 03 got a corner. SV Balverliefd's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Jörgen Kjellqvist ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led FFC Merainies 03's Jörgen Kjellqvist to fire away a dangerous shot which Yorrick Zoethout despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 43rd minute Pepijn Hummel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Yorrick Zoethout saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half FFC Merainies 03 were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ksawery Gongola to make the kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ksawery Gongola in the 56th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Yorrick Zoethout prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 57 minutes had been played when some careless play by SV Balverliefd's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Jörgen Kjellqvist was slow to take the kick. During this time FFC Merainies 03's players had a chance to rest. The corner led FFC Merainies 03's Jörgen Kjellqvist to fire away a dangerous shot which Yorrick Zoethout despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 82 minutes into the match, SV Balverliefd's goal looked a bit too open when Leon Craandijk came free, but Yorrick Zoethout reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Steven Homan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The SV Balverliefd fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. FFC Merainies 03 were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
