The Bruly fans' excitement grew in the 3rd match minute when Bruly's Jullian Vranx looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jullian Vranx in the 7th minute of play forced Albertus FC's goalkeeper Leendert Borg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Bruly booed when Albertus FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ed 冯义兴 didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Thys Mangelschot in the 9th minute of play forced Albertus FC's goalkeeper Leendert Borg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 12 minutes into the game, Bruly's Jullian Vranx nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Leendert Borg made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Leendert Borg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jullian Vranx, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 17 played minutes Albertus FC got a freekick which was hit by Cristo Guzman. With a little luck, Bruly's Willy Van Linthout got control of the ball when Ted Kamps tried to sneak it across the goal line. The corner led Bruly's Thys Mangelschot to fire away a dangerous shot which Leendert Borg despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 27 minutes into the game, Bruly's Jullian Vranx nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Leendert Borg made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. In the 30th minute, Charis Mantalakis ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Willy Van Linthout was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. 34 minutes into the game, Thys Mangelschot cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-4. Leendert Borg was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 37th minute, Cristo Guzman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Jullian Vranx's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Leendert Borg was relentless in the 39th minute of the game. The supporters of Albertus FC booed when Bruly was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jacques Van der Veeren didn't get a good kick on the ball. 47 minutes into the match, Albertus FC's goal looked a bit too open when Jullian Vranx came free, but Leendert Borg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After the first half Bruly were leading 1-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jullian Vranx to strike the kick off in the second half. If Charis Mantalakis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bruly's Luckas Cromefeldt got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Cristo Guzman fell near the penalty area in the 71st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Albertus FC's protests and gave Cristo Guzman a yellow card for diving instead. Cristo Guzman kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. 74 minutes into the match, Albertus FC's goalkeeper Leendert Borg had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jullian Vranx. Leendert Borg made a fantastic save in the 77th minute, when Jullian Vranx sent off a good shot on target. In the 80th minute Ted Kamps shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Willy Van Linthout saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Albertus FC's Leendert Borg got control of the ball when Jullian Vranx tried to sneak it across the goal line. Leendert Borg didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 91st minute, which inside left pole to 1-6. In the 95th minute Charis Mantalakis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Willy Van Linthout saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Bruly supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Bruly would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
