Anversa Club's Waut Van Der Meeren played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Guido Vissenaeken in the 2nd minute of play. Waut Van Der Meeren showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Laurențiu Roşculeţ, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. After 8 played minutes Anversa Club got a freekick which was hit by Niclas Ivarsson. Vítor Baia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nicu Vornicu in the 11th minute of the match. Waut Van Der Meeren made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arnauld Van Impe in the 13th minute of play. In the 13th minute Arnauld Van Impe shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Waut Van Der Meeren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mickael De Winter hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. Ümit Karan could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 15th minute of the match, but Waut Van Der Meeren made a huge save. Waut Van Der Meeren made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jaspar Van Den Broeck in the 17th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Anversa Club's Nicu Vornicu got a free kick in the 18th minute. Waut Van Der Meeren made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sandro Gaúcho in the 26th minute. Brugge United's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
