The audience thought a goal was coming when Roman Koenig got free with Acácio Lara in the 22nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 23 minutes into the match, Club Athletico Paulistano's goal looked a bit too open when Elliott Bergsten came free, but Acácio Lara reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 31 minutes into the match, Club Athletico Paulistano's goalkeeper Acácio Lara had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Charlie Boström. The supporters of A.A. Francana booed when Club Athletico Paulistano was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bartosz Bereszynski lost his temper 86 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. After 85 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for A.A. Francana! Agnaldo Mattos walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. Renan Melo was a little too slow when Fabinho dos Santos got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 94th minute. The score was now 2-4. The Club Athletico Paulistano supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Club Athletico Paulistano would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
