Pindorama Eagles's supporters rose to their feet, but Frits van Gaal was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ergo Muro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 22 minutes into the game, Niceto Ihazintu cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Vassilis Nentakis was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Lionel-Andrés Messi came up free with the goalie in the 25th minute, the S.E. Pindorama Eagles fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lionel-Andrés Messi couldn't finish the play. Ergo Muro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Frits van Gaal, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Niceto Ihazintu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 36th minute of the match, but Vassilis Nentakis made a huge save. In the 37th minute Lionel-Andrés Messi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ergo Muro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ergo Muro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Frits van Gaal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Niceto Ihazintu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Vassilis Nentakis made an important save on a dangerous shot by Niceto Ihazintu in the 42nd minute. Ergo Muro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Frits van Gaal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Ergo Muro was left in no man's land by his defense there! S.E. Pindorama Eagles made a substitution. Inácio Ponta replaced Juvenal Antunes. S.E. Pindorama Eagles's Luis Vasquez was substituted for Ştefan Magheran. S.E. Pindorama Eagles's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
