Francesco Totti could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 7th minute of the match, but Ovidiu Caranfil made a huge save. After 8 minutes Club Vertigo's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Isaltino Paes who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Francesco Totti got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Ovidiu Caranfil quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Club Vertigo were furious when Iulian Lovin was red carded, 11 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. Francesco Totti could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 16th minute of the match, but Ovidiu Caranfil made a huge save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gösta Söderberg got free with Ovidiu Caranfil in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 30 minutes Club Vertigo's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Isaltino Paes who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Hammarby IF's Isaltino Paes to fire away a dangerous shot which Ovidiu Caranfil despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 31st minute Ola Bremming shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ovidiu Caranfil saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Holger Vester showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emanuel Negru, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. After having played for 41 minutes, Gösta Söderberg managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hammarby IF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gösta Söderberg was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ovidiu Caranfil took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Celedonio Dominguez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Well-Well Benne stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Nechifor Cucerdean hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. Well-Well Benne received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Holger Vester tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Hammarby IF booed when Club Vertigo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emanuel Negru didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 60 minutes, Francesco Totti managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. When Celedonio Dominguez came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the Hammarby IF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Celedonio Dominguez couldn't finish the play. The attack was good, but when Well-Well Benne in the 67th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. After 71 played minutes Club Vertigo got a freekick which was hit by Octavian Mergea. Hammarby IF made a substitution. Jonas Hök replaced Francesco Totti. After a rather tough play, Club Vertigo's Octavian Mergea got a free kick in the 71st minute. Gösta Söderberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Ovidiu Caranfil tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 80th minute, Gösta Söderberg got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Well-Well Benne came up free with the goalie in the 82nd minute, the Club Vertigo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Well-Well Benne couldn't finish the play. Ovidiu Caranfil showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gösta Söderberg in the 83rd minute of the match. Hammarby IF's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Isaltino Paes in the 85th minute. Hammarby IF's Isaltino Paes was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Ovidiu Caranfil in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Emanuel Negru hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. Celedonio Dominguez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 95th minute Gösta Söderberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ovidiu Caranfil saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hammarby IF's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
