In the 4th match minute, KaoS Futbol Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zeledon Tabb to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 6 minutes, Alfredo Martins managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Marquês de Herval's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alfredo Martins was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 10th minute Igor Lebas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dida Taffarel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Igor Lebas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Dida Taffarel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 13 minutes into the match, KaoS Futbol Club's goalkeeper Pierluigi Buffon had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dorian Moraes. Dorian Moraes came free with the goalkeeper in the 13th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Pierluigi Buffon could save by the left post. In the 16th minute Igor Lebas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dida Taffarel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Through an outstanding action, after 18 minutes, Pierluigi Buffon successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 25 minutes into the match, Marquês de Herval's goal looked a bit too open when Igor Lebas came free, but Dida Taffarel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 25 minutes into the match, Igor Lebas had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dida Taffarel. Marquês de Herval's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Igor Lebas was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. KaoS Futbol Club's Pierluigi Buffon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alfredo Martins in the 29th minute of play. Pierluigi Buffon was a little too slow when German Cano got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 32nd minute. The score was now 1-1. In the 38th minute, Toby Major hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dida Taffarel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Héctor-Horacio Scotta in the 40th minute of play. Through an outstanding action, after 44 minutes, Pierluigi Buffon successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Noel Hargrave kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. A long shot from Gaston Gonzalez in the 47th minute of play was well struck, but Pierluigi Buffon made a really good save at the right post. A collision led to Marquês de Herval getting a freekick after 48 minutes play. Toby Major hit a great ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The throw-in from Gaston Gonzalez in the 63rd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by KaoS Futbol Club's Héctor-Horacio Scotta. The supporters of KaoS Futbol Club booed when Marquês de Herval was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Toby Major didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 72nd minute, Toby Major hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Noel Hargrave, 73 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Dida Taffarel was a little too slow when Igor Lebas got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 75th minute. The score was now 1-2. Marquês de Herval were awarded a corner in the 81th minute after KaoS Futbol Club's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Moussa Kabre took the corner. Pierluigi Buffon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alfredo Martins in the 86th minute of the match. In the 88th minute, Igor Lebas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 95 minutes of play, Marquês de Herval's German Cano made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Pierluigi Buffon was left in no man's land by his defense there! The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
