Dida Taffarel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tony Mendes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 6 minutes into the game, A.D Leônico's Tony Mendes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dida Taffarel made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. A collision led to A.D Leônico getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Antoni Piatek hit a great ball. After 16 played minutes, Marquês de Herval's Moussa Kabre shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper André Luiz de Barros came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Marquês de Herval reached it. André Luiz de Barros showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dorian Moraes in the 17th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alfredo Martins in the 21st minute of play forced A.D Leônico's goalkeeper André Luiz de Barros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marquês de Herval's Dida Taffarel proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 23rd minute of the match, managed to save Marquês de Herval from getting a goal against them. André Luiz de Barros came out of the goal in the 24th minute to try and stop a shot by Marquês de Herval's Dorian Moraes. But to his dismay, Dorian Moraes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Tony Mendes kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. After 29 minutes of play, Marquês de Herval's Dorian Moraes made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. André Luiz de Barros was left in no man's land by his defense there! A.D Leônico's André Luiz de Barros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dorian Moraes in the 34th minute of play. In the 36th minute Alfredo Martins shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but André Luiz de Barros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Marquês de Herval's Dida Taffarel got control of the ball when Tony Mendes tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alfredo Martins in the 41st minute of play forced A.D Leônico's goalkeeper André Luiz de Barros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 44 minutes into the game, Antoni Piatek was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. A.D Leônico's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Marquês de Herval the free kick. In the 44th minute, one of A.D Leônico:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for A.D Leônico. The A.D Leônico players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Marquês de Herval were winning 1-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Alfredo Martins stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Alfredo Martins sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. André Luiz de Barros made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dorian Moraes in the 54th minute. André Luiz de Barros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from German Cano in the 56th minute of play. In the 57th minute, Tony Mendes left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The A.D Leônico fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. Dorian Moraes received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. André Luiz de Barros came out and tried to block the shot, but Dorian Moraes slotted it home off the left post making it 2-3 in the 61st minute. After 67 minutes of play, Marquês de Herval's Alfredo Martins made it 2-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. André Luiz de Barros was left in no man's land by his defense there! A.D Leônico's André Luiz de Barros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dorian Moraes in the 77th minute of play. Nando Cearense kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. 82 minutes into the match, Andriy Shevchenko had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dida Taffarel. Marquês de Herval's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Andriy Shevchenko was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-4. Dida Taffarel stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alfredo Catarinense's shot from short distance in the 88th minute. 93 minutes into the match, A.D Leônico's goalkeeper André Luiz de Barros had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alfredo Martins. In the 95th minute of the match, Alfredo Martins tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but André Luiz de Barros saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line.
