Marcelinho Barral didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Palestra do Interior. Allan Varela showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Michel Haaland in the 18th minute of the match. With a little luck, Palestra do Interior's Allan Varela got control of the ball when Luís Paulo Trevisan tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 20th minute, Boyisana Mnisi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Marcelinho Barral showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paulo Godoi, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. After 23 minutes Roceira SC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Hudson Sergipano who took care of the corner kick. Herbert Pankowski was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. 26 minutes into the game, Paulo Godoi cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Marcelinho Barral was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Marcelinho Barral showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paulo Godoi in the 32nd minute of the match. Marcelinho Barral came out of the goal in the 34th minute to try and stop a shot by Palestra do Interior's Paulo Godoi. But to his dismay, Paulo Godoi quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Marcelinho Barral made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paulo Godoi in the 37th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paulo Godoi in the 39th minute of play forced Roceira SC's goalkeeper Marcelinho Barral to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Palestra do Interior's Allan Varela got control of the ball when Hulk Speed tried to sneak it across the goal line. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Paulo Godoi was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hulk Speed in the 55th minute of play forced Palestra do Interior's goalkeeper Allan Varela to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 56th minute, Boyisana Mnisi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Paulo Godoi's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Marcelinho Barral read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 65th minute of play. Palestra do Interior made a substitution. Reynaldo Sena replaced Percival Cruz. Palestra do Interior made a substitution. Vitório Lago replaced Paulo Godoi. Vitório Lago could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 70th minute of the match, but Marcelinho Barral made a huge save. In the 72nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Roceira SC's goalkeeper Marcelinho Barral, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 76th minute Vitório Lago shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcelinho Barral saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hulk Speed in the 79th minute of play forced Palestra do Interior's goalkeeper Allan Varela to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hulk Speed kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. After 86 minutes of play, Palestra do Interior's Vitório Lago made it 1-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Marcelinho Barral was left in no man's land by his defense there! Palestra do Interior were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Roceira SC's much stronger midfield.
