An unexpectedly hard shot by Eustratios Pechlifanis in the 12th minute of play forced Papunhas EC's goalkeeper Ismael Nazario Serre to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 18th minute, Inácio Matorin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Papunhas EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Inácio Matorin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luís Guilherme Marques breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 19 minutes, Paulo Vander mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Papunhas EC and the BRASIL.Sp players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 20th minute, Paulo Vander hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Eustratios Pechlifanis was the one to do the kick off. 51 minutes into the match, BRASIL.Sp's Eusébio Barros sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ismael Nazario Serre narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 60th minute, one of Papunhas EC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Papunhas EC. Papunhas EC:s Ismael Nazario Serre showed great skill when he stopped Mario Jardeløv:s penalty. A collision led to Papunhas EC getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Telmo Peres hit a great ball. BRASIL.Sp made a substitution. Almir Matos replaced Luciano Salles. After 65 played minutes Papunhas EC got a freekick which was hit by Telmo Peres. In the 66th minute Eustratios Pechlifanis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ismael Nazario Serre saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Mario Jardeløv's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ismael Nazario Serre was relentless in the 68th minute of the game. Ismael Nazario Serre made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mario Jardeløv in the 70th minute of play. 71 minutes into the match, BRASIL.Sp's goal looked a bit too open when Valdemar de Moraes came free, but Luís Guilherme Marques reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Inácio Matorin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
