The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 5 minutes into the match, Atlético Micaelense's goal looked a bit too open when Severino Madruga came free, but Gervásio Sousa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 10 minutes into the match, Machada FC's goal looked a bit too open when Lu Chen came free, but Cüneyd Bektaş reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Atlético Micaelense were awarded a corner in the 11th minute after Machada FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Fabrício Coelho took the corner. In the 11th minute, Lu Chen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The throw-in from Vítor Águas in the 14th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Machada FC's Gerard Cieślik. Cüneyd Bektaş showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lu Chen in the 16th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Severino Madruga in the 24th minute of play forced Atlético Micaelense's goalkeeper Gervásio Sousa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cüneyd Bektaş showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Klaus Van Mellart in the 28th minute of the match. Cüneyd Bektaş made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Palmiro Bettencourt in the 30th minute of play. In the 31st minute Lu Chen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cüneyd Bektaş saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cüneyd Bektaş showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Klaus Van Mellart in the 34th minute of the match. Gervásio Sousa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alberto Portugal in the 35th minute. 43 minutes into the match, Machada FC's goal looked a bit too open when Palmiro Bettencourt came free, but Cüneyd Bektaş reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 45 played minutes Machada FC got a freekick which was hit by Roger Clapham.

With 51 minutes on the clock, Téo Massa commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. When the match had been going on for 52 minutes, Atlético Micaelense's Palmiro Bettencourt got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Cüneyd Bektaş. In the 57th minute, Atlético Micaelense's Palmiro Bettencourt ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Cüneyd Bektaş. Cüneyd Bektaş yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-3. Vítor Resende hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. 63 minutes into the match, Machada FC's goalkeeper Cüneyd Bektaş had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Klaus Van Mellart. Claudemiro Lage fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gervásio Sousa having to interfere. Atlético Micaelense's Gervásio Sousa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alberto Portugal in the 71st minute of play. Cüneyd Bektaş showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lu Chen, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. After a rather tough play, Atlético Micaelense's Palmiro Osório got a free kick in the 77th minute. The supporters of Machada FC booed when Atlético Micaelense was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Palmiro Osório didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lu Chen in the 82nd minute of play forced Machada FC's goalkeeper Cüneyd Bektaş to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Atlético Micaelense's zone, Claudemiro Lage stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gervásio Sousa came out of the goal and Claudemiro Lage tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cüneyd Bektaş made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lu Chen in the 89th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Severino Madruga in the 94th minute of play forced Atlético Micaelense's goalkeeper Gervásio Sousa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 97th minute of the match Fabrício Coelho shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Cüneyd Bektaş showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Atlético Micaelense's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
