Jiang De might have been able to make a better finish in the 11th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Selahaddin Esentürk. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jiang De ran back to his position shaking his head. Kerim Altunbaş's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Samuel Fiúza read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 15th minute of play. The supporters of AMLUCHO booed when Gremio Viana was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Augustin Panaiteanu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jiang De took the ball and in the 20 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Selahaddin Esentürk. Samuel Fiúza made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kerim Altunbaş in the 31st minute. Jiang De might have been able to make a better finish in the 33rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Selahaddin Esentürk. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jiang De ran back to his position shaking his head. Selahaddin Esentürk took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jiang De, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 42nd minute, Severino Torcato hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Selahaddin Esentürk showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jiang De in the 46th minute of the match. The AMLUCHO players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Gremio Viana were winning 0-2.

The wind increased when Nélson Sousa made the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute Nélson Sousa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Samuel Fiúza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Selahaddin Esentürk showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jiang De in the 53rd minute of the match. The Gremio Viana players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
