The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4thth minute of the game Ricardo Guerra who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ponte do Carro's André Carmo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 9th minute of the game. One of Ponte do Carro:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of MEXACOMX:s goal. André Carmo had in the 10thth minute some difficulties stopping Maurício Meireles's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. In the 15th minute Ricardo Guerra shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but André Carmo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. André Carmo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ricardo Guerra in the 20th minute of the match. MEXACOMX's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Joaquin Sedillo in the 21st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Simão Boaventura in the 26th minute of play forced MEXACOMX's goalkeeper Januário Rangel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 27 played minutes Ponte do Carro got a freekick which was hit by Adélio Brites. 27 minutes into the match, MEXACOMX's Joaquin Sedillo broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. The throw-in from Gil Vilhena in the 30th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by MEXACOMX's Berker Güneş. Ricardo Guerra blasted a shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without André Carmo having to make a save. Ponte do Carro's André Carmo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ricardo Guerra in the 32nd minute of play. André Carmo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ricardo Guerra went, in the 35th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. André Carmo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ricardo Guerra, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, MEXACOMX's Murilo Costa got a free kick in the 43rd minute. The supporters of Ponte do Carro booed when MEXACOMX was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gogo Anaya didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luís Falcão in the 45th minute of play forced MEXACOMX's goalkeeper Januário Rangel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Loukianos Livas was the one to do the kick off. 52 minutes had been played when some careless play by MEXACOMX's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Luís Falcão was slow to take the kick. During this time Ponte do Carro's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Luís Falcão almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but MEXACOMX's Januário Rangel did a great save. Francisco Queirós's late challenge caught a MEXACOMX's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Francisco Queirós helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of MEXACOMX booed when Ponte do Carro was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Francisco Queirós didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ricardo Guerra could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 61st minute of the match, but André Carmo made a huge save. MEXACOMX's Januário Rangel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Palmiro Leite in the 69th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Loukianos Livas in the 71st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Januário Rangel prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ricardo Guerra's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but André Carmo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 72nd minute of play. Ricardo Guerra struck a weak shot in the 73rd minute. André Carmo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for MEXACOMX. Ponte do Carro's Ricardo Peixoto was substituted for Adélio Brites. In the 76th minute Ricardo Guerra shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but André Carmo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 78th minute, Ricardo Guerra managed to get in a good position for a shot. MEXACOMX's supporters rose to their feet, but Ricardo Guerra was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. André Carmo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. André Carmo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ricardo Guerra, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. Januário Rangel stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Loukianos Livas's shot from short distance in the 83rd minute. Ponte do Carro's André Carmo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wu Liang Mo in the 89th minute of play. After 90 minutes, Maurício Meireles mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the MEXACOMX and the Ponte do Carro players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched MEXACOMX eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
