Qiu Chuan Ran showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fu Han Qiang, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. Qiu Chuan Ran came out of the goal in the 23rd minute to try and stop a shot by Andarilhos's Fu Han Qiang. But to his dismay, Fu Han Qiang quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. 26 minutes into the match, Sporting Clube V.R.S.A.'s goal looked a bit too open when Trifon Katsoulis came free, but Qiu Chuan Ran reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 28 minutes Sporting Clube V.R.S.A.'s defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Adriano Ramires who took care of the corner kick. After 31 minutes, Fu Han Qiang made it 0-3 with a short kick to the right side. Sporting Clube V.R.S.A.'s Qiu Chuan Ran tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fu Han Qiang in the 37th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Qiu Chuan Ran saved Sporting Clube V.R.S.A. from getting behind. Qiu Chuan Ran stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fu Han Qiang's shot from short distance in the 39th minute. 41 minutes into the match, Sporting Clube V.R.S.A.'s goal looked a bit too open when Jürgen Behnke came free, but Qiu Chuan Ran reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Sporting Clube V.R.S.A. defense, Trifon Katsoulis kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Qiu Chuan Ran. The Sporting Clube V.R.S.A. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Qiu Chuan Ran should have stopped the shot. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-4 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Raimundo Ventura was the one to do the kick off. Qiu Chuan Ran made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Trifon Katsoulis in the 55th minute of play. Andarilhos's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Adriano Ramires in the 56th minute. The corner led Andarilhos's Adriano Ramires to fire away a dangerous shot which Qiu Chuan Ran despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Qiu Chuan Ran was a little too slow when Trifon Katsoulis got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 59th minute. The score was now 0-5. After 71 played minutes Sporting Clube V.R.S.A. got a freekick which was hit by 蔡风挺. Sporting Clube V.R.S.A.'s Modesto Bras was substituted for Israel Carvalhal. In the 73rd match minute, Sporting Clube V.R.S.A. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by 蔡风挺 to maneuver through the defense. Jon Oblak showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rodolfo Faria in the 76th minute of the match. Sporting Clube V.R.S.A.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Andarilhos the free kick.
