Darryl Buckner's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Reynaldo Stephen read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 5th minute of play. 9 minutes into the match, Dep Colonia Avellaneda's Darryl Buckner sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Reynaldo Stephen narrowly saved just below the crossbar. With a little luck, Dep Colonia Avellaneda's Victoriano Bernaldo got control of the ball when Theo Hayles tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the match had gone on for 16 minutes, Evelio Pes took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Victoriano Bernaldo to make any attempt to save it. Victoriano Bernaldo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Theo Hayles in the 26th minute of play. 28 minutes had been played when some careless play by Dep Colonia Avellaneda's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Luisito Bikendi was slow to take the kick. During this time Club Sportivo Italiano's players had a chance to rest. Dep Colonia Avellaneda's Darryl Buckner got a good chance for a goal in the 29th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Reynaldo Stephen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Darryl Buckner in the 32nd minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Darryl Buckner's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Reynaldo Stephen was relentless in the 41st minute of the game. Theo Hayles sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 45th minute Evelio Pes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Victoriano Bernaldo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The wind increased when Evelio Pes made the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Dep Colonia Avellaneda's zone, Evelio Pes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Victoriano Bernaldo came out of the goal and Evelio Pes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Victoriano Bernaldo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Evelio Pes, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. In the 63rd minute of the game Luisito Bikendi made a throw-in which Evelio Pes played forward. The audience thought a goal was coming when Leopoldo Rosa got free with Reynaldo Stephen in the 65th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Victoriano Bernaldo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Theo Hayles in the 76th minute of play. Victoriano Bernaldo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Theo Hayles in the 78th minute of the match. Dep Colonia Avellaneda's Victoriano Bernaldo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Theo Hayles in the 82nd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Dep Colonia Avellaneda's Vasile Tufescu got a free kick in the 83rd minute. In the 88th minute, Theo Hayles got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 92 minutes into the game, Club Sportivo Italiano's Theo Hayles nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Victoriano Bernaldo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. A throw-in in the 95th minute of the game was made by Luisito Bikendi with Evelio Pes as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Club Sportivo Italiano's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
