The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of CRUZ DEL SUR booed when El Renacer del Quijano FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Niceto Vellito didn't get a good kick on the ball. Paulo Francho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Augusto Estefan in the 4th minute of play. After having played for 8 minutes, Augusto Estefan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. CRUZ DEL SUR's supporters crossed their fingers, but Augusto Estefan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Augusto Estefan might have been able to make a better finish in the 11th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Paulo Francho. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Augusto Estefan ran back to his position shaking his head. CRUZ DEL SUR's attentive Arturo Vidal managed to snatch the ball when Niceto Vellito made a throw-in in the 15th minute of the game. 17 minutes into the match, El Renacer del Quijano FC's goal looked a bit too open when Augusto Estefan came free, but Paulo Francho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 18th minute, Camilo Rito hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Teobaldo Javiar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 26 minutes, Carmelo Tibalt mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the El Renacer del Quijano FC and the CRUZ DEL SUR players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of CRUZ DEL SUR booed when El Renacer del Quijano FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carmelo Tibalt didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 39th minute, Augusto Estefan left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The CRUZ DEL SUR fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Teobaldo Javiar stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, El Renacer del Quijano FC's Carmelo Tibalt got a free kick in the 54th minute. After a defensive mix-up in El Renacer del Quijano FC's zone, Bautista Marcó stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Paulo Francho came out of the goal and Bautista Marcó tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Paulo Francho didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Augusto Estefan went, in the 69th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. CRUZ DEL SUR's Pippin Aguilera was substituted for Augusto Estefan. CRUZ DEL SUR made a substitution. Eustacio Antonucci replaced Abundio Manzano. With an all-out effort, CRUZ DEL SUR's Paulo Francho threw himself towards the right post 75 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Pippin Aguilera, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luis Artaldo in the 78th minute of play forced CRUZ DEL SUR's goalkeeper Zachariasz Dudkowski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 79 minutes into the match, El Renacer del Quijano FC's goalkeeper Paulo Francho had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Pippin Aguilera. With an all-out effort, CRUZ DEL SUR's Paulo Francho threw himself towards the right post 81 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Pippin Aguilera, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. From a short distance, CRUZ DEL SUR's Pippin Aguilera, in the 81st minute, tried to place the ball behind Paulo Francho, but the ball hit the right post on the wrong side and went out. After 83 played minutes El Renacer del Quijano FC got a freekick which was hit by Teo Beltza. Paulo Francho made a fantastic save in the 85th minute, when Fabio Zorondo sent off a good shot on target. Paulo Francho didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Bautista Marcó went, in the 89th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score. 97 minutes into the match, El Renacer del Quijano FC's goal looked a bit too open when Pippin Aguilera came free, but Paulo Francho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. CRUZ DEL SUR's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
