Argyris Zagorakis recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 5th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Yalapa's Cristo Izel quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Veto Harroyo, made in the 10th minute of the game. In the 14th minute of the match SC Pfullendorf got a corner. Yalapa's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. David Moya ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 17th minute Fermin Dolfo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kıvanç Yücesan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Yalapa's zone, Miguel Rodríguez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Basri İhtiyar came out of the goal and Miguel Rodríguez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 20 minutes into the match, Yalapa's goalkeeper Basri İhtiyar had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Argyris Zagorakis. After 24 minutes of play, SC Pfullendorf's Miguel Rodríguez made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Basri İhtiyar was left in no man's land by his defense there! Kıvanç Yücesan stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fermin Dolfo's shot from short distance in the 28th minute. Veto Harroyo hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. Argyris Zagorakis's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 33rdth minute, Basri İhtiyar skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Veto Harroyo kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Argyris Zagorakis in the 44th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Basri İhtiyar saved Yalapa from getting behind. The audience thought a goal was coming when Argyris Zagorakis got free with Basri İhtiyar in the 47th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Argyris Zagorakis made a kick off. Kıvanç Yücesan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fermin Dolfo in the 53rd minute of the match. The supporters of SC Pfullendorf booed when Yalapa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Diego Armando Junior didn't get a good kick on the ball. Yalapa's Basri İhtiyar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Argyris Zagorakis in the 56th minute of play.
