Nery Pumpido took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hauk Hareide, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zico Zellier in the 13th minute of play forced Carabata Groove's goalkeeper Cristobal Goito to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 20 minutes into the match, Hauk Hareide notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of GuateFortín's Nery Pumpido. Nery Pumpido was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 25th match minute, Carabata Groove was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Frasco Ferreira to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Carabata Groove's zone, Máximo Perrone stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cristobal Goito came out of the goal and Máximo Perrone tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 26th minute of the match, Máximo Perrone got a very nice opportunity to score, but Cristobal Goito was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Roberto Trotta kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. Nery Pumpido made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hauk Hareide in the 28th minute of play. Carabata Groove were awarded a corner in the 29th minute after GuateFortín's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Ambrosio Bartolome took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Ambrosio Bartolome got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Nery Pumpido quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Cristobal Goito showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stanyo Búnkov in the 31st minute of the match. If Hauk Hareide had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 45th minute, Frasco Ferreira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

In the 80th minute, Máximo Perrone got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. GuateFortín made a substitution. Mauro Elazar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Carabata Groove walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
