The audience thought a goal was coming when Dario Betzanos got free with Nery Pumpido in the 9th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Hilario Pesquera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sven-Edvin Jansson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hilario Pesquera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sven-Edvin Jansson, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. Dario Betzanos might have been able to make a better finish in the 14th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nery Pumpido. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dario Betzanos ran back to his position shaking his head. 14 minutes into the match, GuateFortín's goal looked a bit too open when Dario Betzanos came free, but Nery Pumpido reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, GuateFortín's Nery Pumpido got control of the ball when Alan Petersen tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Golden Dragón F.C booed when GuateFortín was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Stanyo Búnkov didn't get a good kick on the ball. Golden Dragón F.C's Hilario Pesquera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sven-Edvin Jansson in the 24th minute of play. The GuateFortín fans' excitement grew in the 24th match minute when GuateFortín's Sven-Edvin Jansson looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 28th minute, Roberto Trotta hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nery Pumpido showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dario Betzanos, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. Golden Dragón F.C's Hilario Pesquera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Thierry Henry in the 31st minute of play. GuateFortín were awarded a corner in the 32th minute after Golden Dragón F.C's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Angel Alvarenga took the corner. Golden Dragón F.C's Fernandez Vizcarreto was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Nery Pumpido in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Hilario Pesquera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zico Zellier in the 37th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dario Betzanos in the 38th minute of play forced GuateFortín's goalkeeper Nery Pumpido to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 41 minutes into the match, Golden Dragón F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Sven-Edvin Jansson came free, but Hilario Pesquera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 43 minutes Golden Dragón F.C's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Angel Alvarenga who took care of the corner kick. Sven-Edvin Jansson hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, GuateFortín's Ivan Lozano got a free kick in the 44th minute. Ivan Lozano lost his temper 46 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Dario Betzanos in the 64th minute of play forced GuateFortín's goalkeeper Nery Pumpido to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 65th minute Dario Betzanos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nery Pumpido saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 69th minute, Alan Petersen left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Golden Dragón F.C fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. Alan Petersen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Nery Pumpido tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Golden Dragón F.C made a substitution. Tadeo Olmedilla replaced Dario Betzanos. Golden Dragón F.C's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Fernandez Vizcarreto in the 78th minute. Golden Dragón F.C's Selim Mićić was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Nery Pumpido in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After taking down the ball on Golden Dragón F.C's corner Fernandez Vizcarreto fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Nery Pumpido quite easily take care of the ball. Gasteiz Durazno recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 91 minutes into the match, Tadeo Olmedilla had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Nery Pumpido. GuateFortín's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tadeo Olmedilla was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. In the 94th match minute, Golden Dragón F.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Selim Mićić to maneuver through the defense. Tadeo Olmedilla took the ball and in the 96 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Nery Pumpido. Nery Pumpido dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-1. Golden Dragón F.C walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
