With a little luck, C. A. Independiente's Farid Mondragón got control of the ball when Karim Morientes tried to sneak it across the goal line. Xu Yun Quan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Farid Mondragón was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Karim Morientes showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 16 minute of play. Farid Mondragón made an important save on a dangerous shot by Karim Morientes in the 21st minute. In the 23rd minute Sidney Forbes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benicio Larez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 25 minutes into the match, Valhalla F.C.'s Karim Morientes sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Farid Mondragón narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Karim Morientes in the 34th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Farid Mondragón prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Benicio Larez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sidney Forbes in the 45th minute of the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Karim Morientes in the 52nd minute of play forced C. A. Independiente's goalkeeper Farid Mondragón to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Valhalla F.C. booed when C. A. Independiente was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eric Snowden didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience was convinced that Sidney Forbes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Benicio Larez was relentless in the 57th minute of the game. Gaxan Barrena fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Farid Mondragón having to interfere. Valhalla F.C.'s Benicio Larez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sidney Forbes in the 71st minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as C. A. Independiente's Kerry Sellers slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Benicio Larez. That made the score 2-1 after 72 minutes of play. C. A. Independiente's Farid Mondragón played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Izel Ronaldo in the 79th minute of play. Farid Mondragón took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Izel Ronaldo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
