Teodosio Sergi was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Kev Hurtado showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-1 in the 7 minute of play. Kev Hurtado received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Teodosio Sergi came out and tried to block the shot, but Kev Hurtado slotted it home off the left post making it 2-1 in the 17th minute. Teodosio Sergi made a fantastic save in the 23rd minute, when Prospero Arevalo sent off a good shot on target. In the 24th minute of the match Deportivo ScrugenFC got a corner. Velez Sarsfield's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Prospero Arevalo ran over to the corner to take the kick. Deportivo ScrugenFC's Kev Hurtado got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 30 played minutes Deportivo ScrugenFC got a freekick which was hit by Regis Padriña. After a rather tough play, Deportivo ScrugenFC's Kieth Hustinx got a free kick in the 31st minute. 34 minutes into the match, Velez Sarsfield's goal looked a bit too open when Kev Hurtado came free, but Teodosio Sergi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 36 minutes Velez Sarsfield's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Prospero Arevalo who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Prospero Arevalo almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Velez Sarsfield's Teodosio Sergi did a great save. In the 36thth minute of the game Kev Hurtado who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Velez Sarsfield's Teodosio Sergi was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 38th minute, Nereo Artaldo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Velez Sarsfield fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Kev Hurtado stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Velez Sarsfield walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
