But to his dismay, Karim Morientes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Benicio Larez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Xu Yun Quan in the 37th minute of play. Benicio Larez made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sidney Forbes in the 43rd minute. The supporters of C. A. Independiente booed when Valhalla F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gaxan Barrena didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to C. A. Independiente getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Qiu Fan Ran hit a great ball. Ryszard Prusinowski kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. When Karim Morientes came up free with the goalie in the 48th minute, the Valhalla F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Karim Morientes couldn't finish the play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

In the 53rd minute, Karim Morientes made a precise shot to the right of Farid Mondragón. C. A. Independiente's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. After taking down the ball on Valhalla F.C.'s corner Radek Majewski fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Farid Mondragón quite easily take care of the ball.
