Villa Mitre City's attentive Generoso Laurgain managed to snatch the ball when Ignacio Berenguer made a throw-in in the 39th minute of the game. Augusto Cordario scored 0-4 in the 41st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ariel Ponc, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a rather tough play, Velez Sarsfield's Ronan Mistral got a free kick in the 44th minute. Disappointed in the 0-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
