Marquês de Herval's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gong Zhan Chen was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. 12 minutes into the match, └◘RivierA▬Þauli§tA◘┘'s goal looked a bit too open when Alfredo Martins came free, but Arlindo Rossi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gong Zhan Chen got free with Dida Taffarel in the 13th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alfredo Martins in the 18th minute of play forced └◘RivierA▬Þauli§tA◘┘'s goalkeeper Arlindo Rossi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marquês de Herval's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Moussa Kabre in the 19th minute. The corner led Marquês de Herval's Moussa Kabre to fire away a dangerous shot which Arlindo Rossi despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Dida Taffarel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jimeno Henric in the 23rd minute of play. Arlindo Rossi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dorian Moraes in the 24th minute of the match. Dida Taffarel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ronaldo Simão, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. └◘RivierA▬Þauli§tA◘┘'s Arlindo Rossi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dorian Moraes in the 28th minute of play. After 29 played minutes └◘RivierA▬Þauli§tA◘┘ got a freekick which was hit by Bo Ståhlberg. Arlindo Rossi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alfredo Martins in the 30th minute of play. After 33 played minutes └◘RivierA▬Þauli§tA◘┘ got a freekick which was hit by Cauã Trevisan. The supporters of Marquês de Herval booed when └◘RivierA▬Þauli§tA◘┘ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wilson Soares didn't get a good kick on the ball. Marquês de Herval's Dida Taffarel proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 38th minute of the match, managed to save Marquês de Herval from getting a goal against them. If Ronaldo Simão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 46th minute Gong Zhan Chen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dida Taffarel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Arlindo Rossi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alfredo Martins, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 49 minutes └◘RivierA▬Þauli§tA◘┘'s defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Moussa Kabre who took care of the corner kick. Marquês de Herval's Moussa Kabre was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Arlindo Rossi in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

After 53 minutes of play, └◘RivierA▬Þauli§tA◘┘'s Wilson Soares made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Dida Taffarel was left in no man's land by his defense there! Dida Taffarel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gong Zhan Chen in the 59th minute of play. Arlindo Rossi stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alfredo Martins's shot from short distance in the 63rd minute. 65 minutes had been played when some careless play by └◘RivierA▬Þauli§tA◘┘'s defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Moussa Kabre was slow to take the kick. During this time Marquês de Herval's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Moussa Kabre got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Arlindo Rossi quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Arlindo Rossi made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dorian Moraes in the 67th minute. 68 minutes into the match, Marquês de Herval's goal looked a bit too open when Jimeno Henric came free, but Dida Taffarel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dida Taffarel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jimeno Henric, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dida Taffarel came out of the goal in the 74th minute to try and stop a shot by └◘RivierA▬Þauli§tA◘┘'s Wilson Soares. But to his dismay, Wilson Soares quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. Cauã Trevisan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Dida Taffarel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, └◘RivierA▬Þauli§tA◘┘'s Arlindo Rossi got control of the ball when Dorian Moraes tried to sneak it across the goal line. 83 minutes into the match, Marquês de Herval's goal looked a bit too open when Jimeno Henric came free, but Dida Taffarel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 86 minutes into the match, └◘RivierA▬Þauli§tA◘┘'s goal looked a bit too open when Alfredo Martins came free, but Arlindo Rossi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 91 minutes into the match, Marquês de Herval's goal looked a bit too open when Gong Zhan Chen came free, but Dida Taffarel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
