Sandro Tepedino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roy Makaay in the 3rd minute of play. In the 11th minute Roy Makaay shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sandro Tepedino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 16 minutes into the match, Villaverde Celeste Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Loco Orange came free, but Nenko Reza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 18 minutes into the match, Villaverde Celeste Clube's goalkeeper Nenko Reza had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Loco Orange. Sandro Tepedino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roy Makaay in the 23rd minute of play. 25 minutes into the match, Villaverde Celeste Clube's Roy Makaay sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Sandro Tepedino narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Loco Orange received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Nenko Reza came out and tried to block the shot, but Loco Orange slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 27th minute. Nenko Reza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Loco Orange, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. 35 minutes into the match, Villaverde Celeste Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Loco Orange came free, but Nenko Reza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 38th minute, Zeledon Vachon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Roy Makaay might have been able to make a better finish in the 43rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sandro Tepedino. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Roy Makaay ran back to his position shaking his head. The supporters of Villaverde Celeste Clube booed when Que se abra o mar was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Silvinho da Silveira didn't get a good kick on the ball. Loco Orange was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 47th minute. Que se abra o mar's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

In the 52nd minute of the match, Roy Makaay tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Sandro Tepedino saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Roy Makaay succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-2 in the 62nd playminute. Que se abra o mar made a substitution. Albertinho Andrade replaced Tommy Van Elsen. Que se abra o mar's Baltazar Botelho was substituted for Hayrullah Atikoğlu. After a rather tough play, Que se abra o mar's Silvinho da Silveira got a free kick in the 66th minute. Sandro Tepedino took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roy Makaay, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Villaverde Celeste Clube's Roy Makaay got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Villaverde Celeste Clube's Kıraç Uskan was substituted for Roy Makaay. Villaverde Celeste Clube's Nenko Reza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tato Vega in the 78th minute of play. Kıraç Uskan's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sandro Tepedino read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 81st minute of play. Nenko Reza showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tato Vega in the 82nd minute of the match. The corner led Que se abra o mar's Lando Norin to fire away a dangerous shot which Nenko Reza despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Silvinho da Silveira made in the 85th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Villaverde Celeste Clube's Nicolai Otamendi. After a rather tough play, Que se abra o mar's Silvinho da Silveira got a free kick in the 87th minute. Sandro Tepedino was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 89th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Guo Ao. If Tato Vega had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 97th minute Kıraç Uskan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sandro Tepedino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
