Anier Selatse might have been able to make a better finish in the 3rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over José Luis Chilavert. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Anier Selatse ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 8th minute Anier Selatse shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José Luis Chilavert saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 12th minute, Ballet Azul's Eulalio Callejas ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Erasmo Urbez. Erasmo Urbez yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. José Luis Chilavert took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anier Selatse, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 19th minute Eulalio Callejas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Erasmo Urbez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 22 minutes into the match, Ballet Azul's goal looked a bit too open when Anier Selatse came free, but José Luis Chilavert reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 23rdth minute of the game Anier Selatse who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ballet Azul's José Luis Chilavert was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Erasmo Urbez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eulalio Callejas in the 26th minute of the match. Erasmo Urbez stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Eulalio Callejas's shot from short distance in the 30th minute. Erasmo Urbez made a fantastic save in the 31st minute, when Eladio Ulloa sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eulalio Callejas in the 42nd minute of play forced GRINGO FC's goalkeeper Erasmo Urbez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 45 played minutes Ballet Azul got a freekick which was hit by Danilo Quiroga. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

GRINGO FC made a substitution. Fabian Polo replaced Anier Selatse. The wind increased when Fabian Polo made the kick off in the second half. When Leonel Sánchez fell near the penalty area in the 53rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ballet Azul's protests and gave Leonel Sánchez a yellow card for diving instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fabian Polo got free with José Luis Chilavert in the 55th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ballet Azul's Waclaw Dombrowski got a good chance for a goal in the 64th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ballet Azul's René Puente was substituted for Santiago Cardenas. In the 70th minute, Xiao Nan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Eladio Ulloa took the ball and in the 72 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Erasmo Urbez. Erasmo Urbez dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. In the 76th match minute, GRINGO FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Freddy Fanuco to maneuver through the defense. 78 minutes into the match, Ballet Azul's goal looked a bit too open when Fabian Polo came free, but José Luis Chilavert reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 78 minutes into the game, Fabian Polo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. José Luis Chilavert was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 82nd minute, Odín Enríquez ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Erasmo Urbez was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-1. Erasmo Urbez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from René Puente, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. 89 minutes into the game, Fabian Polo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-2. José Luis Chilavert was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Fabian Polo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Erasmo Urbez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from René Puente in the 94th minute of the match. Erasmo Urbez didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Odín Enríquez went, in the 94th minute, to the upper right corner, 5-2 was the resulting score. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Ballet Azul had won after a very even match.
