A nice corner shot did that Danilo Quiroga got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Şenol Güneş quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After a rather tough play, Ballet Azul's Romeo Passi got a free kick in the 31st minute. Simon Oliverios's shot from long distance in the 32nd minute was not bad at all, but Ballet Azul's José Luis Chilavert knew what was happening and pushed the ball into his arms just before it hit the right post. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Waclaw Dombrowski managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ballet Azul's supporters rose to their feet, but Waclaw Dombrowski was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Şenol Güneş breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Marco George hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 38th minute of the game. One of LOS MENTI:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Ballet Azul:s goal. In the 39th minute there was a penalty for Ballet Azul. Waclaw Dombrowski stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Şenol Güneş. 0-2. Şenol Güneş showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eulalio Callejas in the 43rd minute of the match. After the first half Ballet Azul were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

After 50 played minutes Ballet Azul got a freekick which was hit by Anacleto Jory. Eulalio Callejas struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. Şenol Güneş didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ballet Azul. After taking down the ball on Ballet Azul's corner Eladio Ulloa fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Şenol Güneş quite easily take care of the ball. When the match had gone on for 64 minutes, Eladio Ulloa put it in 0-3 from a short distance just to the right of Şenol Güneş. Danilo Quiroga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. LOS MENTI's Şenol Güneş played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eulalio Callejas in the 71st minute of play. Şenol Güneş showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Waclaw Dombrowski in the 72nd minute of the match. A hard shot 72 in the game by Eulalio Callejas from a close distance when the talented Şenol Güneş managed to make a qualified save. LOS MENTI's players were relieved.
