With a left leg Karl-Johan Ahlqvist saved Black Rose 1979 from getting behind. 10 minutes had been played when some careless play by Black Rose 1979's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Jonas Esiquio was slow to take the kick. During this time Sportivo Ben Hur's players had a chance to rest. Sportivo Ben Hur's Jonas Esiquio was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Karl-Johan Ahlqvist in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Mario Rodriguez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Jonas Esiquio kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. The Sportivo Ben Hur players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Black Rose 1979 were winning 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gerardo Hitz stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Black Rose 1979's Karl-Johan Ahlqvist played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arturo Baladi in the 88th minute of play. A collision led to Black Rose 1979 getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Davor Šuker hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mario Rodriguez in the 93rd minute of play forced Black Rose 1979's goalkeeper Karl-Johan Ahlqvist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Sportivo Ben Hur defense, Waldemar Matorin kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Montrell Harrell. The Sportivo Ben Hur fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Montrell Harrell should have stopped the shot. Black Rose 1979's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
