An unexpectedly hard shot by Juli Alvarez in the 8th minute of play forced Deportivo Galicia's goalkeeper Alberino Pujana to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alvaro Ramiréz who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 14thth minute tested the skills of Alberino Pujana when he managed to save the team from getting behind. But to his dismay, Juli Alvarez quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-2. Salvador Rojas's late challenge caught a Berenjenas de Punto Fijo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Salvador Rojas helped the player get up and apologised. Valdir Mattos charged in rather forcefully in the 81st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Valdir Mattos the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Valdir Mattos hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. 82 minutes into the match, Berenjenas de Punto Fijo's Dieter Denys sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Alberino Pujana narrowly saved just below the crossbar.
