The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute Caetano Messi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Calistrat Madgearu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. İZZEDDİN EL KASSAM TUGAYI's Cevdet Hızarcı played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tiberiu Caramarin in the 5th minute of play. 12 minutes into the match, MIT's goal looked a bit too open when Ali Asım Dilhan came free, but Calistrat Madgearu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 13th match minute, MIT was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ivan Vâtcă to maneuver through the defense. Dorin Banu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cevdet Hızarcı having to interfere. After a rather tough play, İZZEDDİN EL KASSAM TUGAYI's Paul Beckeman got a free kick in the 18th minute. Mihăiţă Ilarie recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 20th minute, Mihăiţă Ilarie hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of MIT booed when İZZEDDİN EL KASSAM TUGAYI was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gökçe Enginsoy didn't get a good kick on the ball. İZZEDDİN EL KASSAM TUGAYI's Cevdet Hızarcı played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tiberiu Caramarin in the 25th minute of play. 29 minutes into the match, İZZEDDİN EL KASSAM TUGAYI's goal looked a bit too open when Tiberiu Caramarin came free, but Cevdet Hızarcı reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Dorin Banu fell near the penalty area in the 29th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored MIT's protests and gave Dorin Banu a yellow card for diving instead. After 30 played minutes MIT got a freekick which was hit by Dorin Banu. In the 37th minute Tiberiu Caramarin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cevdet Hızarcı saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Tiberiu Caramarin kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Cevdet Hızarcı. That made the score 1-0 in the 48 minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tiberiu Caramarin made a kick off. Calistrat Madgearu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Birant Hasanoğlu in the 54th minute. In the 55th minute, Gökçe Enginsoy hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 56 minutes into the match, İZZEDDİN EL KASSAM TUGAYI's goal looked a bit too open when Tiberiu Caramarin came free, but Cevdet Hızarcı reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tiberiu Caramarin struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Cevdet Hızarcı didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for MIT. 72 minutes into the match, MIT's goalkeeper Calistrat Madgearu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Birant Hasanoğlu. Calistrat Madgearu made a fantastic save in the 76th minute, when Birant Hasanoğlu sent off a good shot on target. MIT's Calistrat Madgearu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 76th minute of the match, managed to save MIT from getting a goal against them. MIT's Bogdan Bucataru was substituted for Mihăiţă Ilarie. İZZEDDİN EL KASSAM TUGAYI's Cevdet Hızarcı played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Florin Seremet in the 86th minute of play. 89 minutes into the game, MIT's Tiberiu Caramarin nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Cevdet Hızarcı made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. MIT's Aurel Buzea was substituted for Florin Seremet. The supporters of İZZEDDİN EL KASSAM TUGAYI booed when MIT was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. David Tunander didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fethi Sekin could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 94th minute of the match, but Calistrat Madgearu made a huge save. Calistrat Madgearu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Birant Hasanoğlu in the 96th minute. MIT's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
