In the 3rd minute, Frisco Pascua hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Salud y República's Juan Carlos Suciu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 7th minute of the match, managed to save Salud y República from getting a goal against them. In the 8th minute, Ximen Feria hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Iosu Pantoja's late challenge caught a S.D NARCEA's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Iosu Pantoja helped the player get up and apologised. After 14 played minutes Salud y República got a freekick which was hit by Iosu Pantoja. After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Calisto Zaplana managed to get in a good position for a shot. S.D NARCEA's supporters rose to their feet, but Calisto Zaplana was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Juan Carlos Suciu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of S.D NARCEA booed when Salud y República was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Abdika Borbon didn't get a good kick on the ball. Juan Carlos Suciu was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Félix Zărnescu. The crowd rose to their feet as Eugeniusz Milko kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Juan Carlos Suciu. That made the score 1-0 in the 22 minute of play. When Rey Guillotin fell near the penalty area in the 28th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Salud y República's protests and gave Rey Guillotin a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Salud y República getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Rey Guillotin hit a great ball. Manel Quintanilla could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 29th minute of the match, but Juan Carlos Suciu made a huge save. Juan Carlos Suciu made a fantastic save in the 36th minute, when Eugeniusz Milko sent off a good shot on target. Abdika Philip sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Germán Figueres took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abdika Philip, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Seve Coello hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. In the 45th minute Paquito Rey shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Juan Carlos Suciu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Abdika Philip to strike the kick off in the second half. When Rey Guillotin was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 53 minutes had been played. Rey Guillotin kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. Juan Carlos Suciu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Manel Quintanilla in the 55th minute of the match. Berto Calatayud fired away a difficult shot at goal in the 58th minute. He almost succeeded, but the ball bounced in the crossbar and then went out. It was a very nice shot. Félix Zărnescu struck a weak shot in the 61st minute. Juan Carlos Suciu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for S.D NARCEA. Juan Carlos Suciu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Manel Quintanilla, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to S.D NARCEA's goalie finding himself so far out he could grab the ball Cai Ocaña tried to make a shot after getting passed the defense. Germán Figueres seemed to really have strength and confidence after that save. S.D NARCEA's Pietro Macia was substituted for Paquito Rey. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pietro Macia in the 79th minute of play forced Salud y República's goalkeeper Juan Carlos Suciu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Salud y República booed when S.D NARCEA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Seve Coello didn't get a good kick on the ball. Calisto Zaplana kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match.
