Penuel Football Club's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Zé Tola was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. With a little luck, Olimpo de Bahia Blanca's Rudolf Meulman got control of the ball when Jorge-Luis Borges tried to sneak it across the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Zé Tola in the 35th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Epifanio Gabrio prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 39th minute Zé Tola shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Epifanio Gabrio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Teo Fidensio might have been able to make a better finish in the 54th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Epifanio Gabrio. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Eduardo Pires didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Olimpo de Bahia Blanca players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
