Ermegildo Matxin was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 33rd minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Unax Mudarra. After some careless play in the ATHLETICO PRaiano defense, Virgilio Ariando kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rodriguinho Sousa. The ATHLETICO PRaiano fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rodriguinho Sousa should have stopped the shot. 41 minutes into the match, Deilmison van Basten had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ermegildo Matxin. BAC Belgrano de Cba's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Deilmison van Basten was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. In the 45th minute Deilmison van Basten shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ermegildo Matxin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When Venancio Santos fell near the penalty area in the 53rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored BAC Belgrano de Cba's protests and gave Venancio Santos a yellow card for diving instead. Unax Mudarra recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ermegildo Matxin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Deilmison van Basten, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, ATHLETICO PRaiano's Gaétan Govou got a free kick in the 88th minute. The referee felt a red card was in order, 90 minutes into the game, when Ildefonso Isaio put in a rough tackle. Ermegildo Matxin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Deilmison van Basten, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. ATHLETICO PRaiano's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
