When Vélez Juniors's Cristian Naike in the 3rd minute got a chance for a shot 3rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Unidad de Matanza's goalie prevented a goal. Venancio Cristofol showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Naike, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Naike in the 13th minute of play forced Unidad de Matanza's goalkeeper Venancio Cristofol to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Michal Stehno struck a weak shot in the 16th minute. Elpidio Vitin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Unidad de Matanza. Tiburcio Quinteros could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 20th minute of the match, but Venancio Cristofol made a huge save. Vélez Juniors's Cristian Naike was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 22nd play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. In the 25th minute Máximo Kirchner shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elpidio Vitin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Máximo Kirchner in the 26th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Elpidio Vitin saved Vélez Juniors from getting behind. Elpidio Vitin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Michal Stehno, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. Venancio Cristofol made a fantastic save in the 37th minute, when Cristian Naike sent off a good shot on target. Unidad de Matanza were awarded a corner in the 41th minute after Vélez Juniors's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Waldemar Okopny took the corner. After taking down the ball on Unidad de Matanza's corner Freddy Quintyn fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Elpidio Vitin quite easily take care of the ball. Unidad de Matanza's Venancio Cristofol played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Naike in the 44th minute of play. After 47 played minutes Vélez Juniors got a freekick which was hit by Melchor Napier. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Michal Stehno was the one to do the kick off. In the 55th minute, Unidad de Matanza's Máximo Kirchner dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. 57 minutes into the match, Vélez Juniors's goal looked a bit too open when Michal Stehno came free, but Elpidio Vitin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tiburcio Quinteros in the 58th minute of play forced Unidad de Matanza's goalkeeper Venancio Cristofol to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 66 minutes into the match, Unidad de Matanza's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Naike came free, but Venancio Cristofol reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tiburcio Quinteros sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vélez Juniors made a substitution. Donato Efraim replaced Alberto Joey. If Nestor Bâru had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Elpidio Vitin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nestor Bâru, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Bernardo Sayvion fell near the penalty area in the 84th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vélez Juniors's protests and gave Bernardo Sayvion a yellow card for diving instead. Bernardo Sayvion hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. If Nestor Bâru had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nestor Bâru blasted a shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Elpidio Vitin having to make a save. Elpidio Vitin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nestor Bâru in the 95th minute of play. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
