The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The audience was convinced that Renato Aragão's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Maurício Estrela was relentless in the 3rd minute of the game. Evandro Pinheiro's late challenge caught a VETERANOS DA GUINÉ - FLF's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Evandro Pinheiro helped the player get up and apologised. Evandro Pinheiro hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. Maurício Estrela showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gaspar Vilas Boas in the 20th minute of the match. 21 minutes into the match, VETERANOS DA GUINÉ - FLF's Jerónimo Leiria sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Durval Soares narrowly saved just below the crossbar. During the 22nd minute of the match Evandro Pinheiro completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Evandro Pinheiro a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After 23 played minutes Piao FC got a freekick which was hit by Evandro Pinheiro. After a rather tough play, Piao FC's Aristides Alcântara got a free kick in the 25th minute. Gaspar Vilas Boas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maurício Estrela having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 31st minute, Jerónimo Leiria managed to get in a good position for a shot. VETERANOS DA GUINÉ - FLF's supporters rose to their feet, but Jerónimo Leiria was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Durval Soares breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 33rd minute, Cristiano Bento ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Durval Soares was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Vivaldo Belém in the 38th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Durval Soares prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After having played for 39 minutes, Vivaldo Belém managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. VETERANOS DA GUINÉ - FLF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vivaldo Belém was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Zé Guine had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Piao FC's Durval Soares proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save Piao FC from getting a goal against them. Aristides Alcântara kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. If Jerónimo Leiria had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded.
