Aurelio Walme showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ulisses Duarte in the 14th minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as CASTROMIL FC -Golden Land's Ulisses Duarte slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Aurelio Walme. That made the score 1-0 after 17 minutes of play. CASTROMIL FC -Golden Land's Duarte Duarte played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Geovani Medeiros in the 24th minute of play. With a little luck, S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's Aurelio Walme got control of the ball when Ernst Giöck tried to sneak it across the goal line. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The CASTROMIL FC -Golden Land fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Duarte Duarte should have stopped the shot. CASTROMIL FC -Golden Land's Filinto Ferro was substituted for Paulo Duarte. Caxias do Sul's Lei Feng Yan got a free kick in the 72nd minute. 74 minutes into the match, CASTROMIL FC -Golden Land's goal looked a bit too open when Breno Vergílio came free, but Duarte Duarte reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Caxias do Sul's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Daniel Podwojski was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-3. Caxias do Sul's Breno Vergílio sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Duarte Duarte narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 87th minute, Breno Vergílio made a precise shot to the right of Duarte Duarte. CASTROMIL FC -Golden Land's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-4. S.E.R. CASTROMIL FC -Golden Land were awarded a corner in the 92th minute after S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Ulisses Duarte took the corner. Daniel Podwojski was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. S.E.R. Caxias do Sul had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
