Selami Rezan hit a great freekick 2 minutes into the match. In the 4th minute Selami Rezan collided with an opponent which caused him a fractured collar bone. 4 minutes into the game, Pastor Gitano was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Figueira SC FSCMZ's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Marquês de Herval the free kick. After a rather tough play, Figueira SC FSCMZ's Pastor Gitano got a free kick in the 6th minute. When the match clock showed 12 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Cássio Guimarães sped through Marquês de Herval's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Dida Taffarel. 17 minutes into the match, Pastor Gitano notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Marquês de Herval's Dida Taffarel. Dida Taffarel was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Yuri Reis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Dida Taffarel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Yuri Reis took the ball and in the 25 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dida Taffarel. Dida Taffarel dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. Yuri Reis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dida Taffarel having to interfere. In the 36th minute Figueira SC FSCMZ were awarded a corner. Bebeto Simão went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Bebeto Simão got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Dida Taffarel quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. An unexpectedly hard shot by German Cano in the 38th minute of play forced Figueira SC FSCMZ's goalkeeper Femke Bol to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Şakir Aydınoğlu received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Dida Taffarel came out and tried to block the shot, but Şakir Aydınoğlu slotted it home off the left post making it 4-0 in the 42nd minute. Dida Taffarel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Yuri Reis in the 47th minute of the match. Af the end of the first half the score was 4-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Şakir Aydınoğlu in the 55th minute of play forced Marquês de Herval's goalkeeper Dida Taffarel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 56 played minutes Figueira SC FSCMZ got a freekick which was hit by Dadá Macedo. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Moussa Kabre managed to get in a good position for a shot. Marquês de Herval's supporters rose to their feet, but Moussa Kabre was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Femke Bol breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Dida Taffarel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Yuri Reis in the 61st minute of play. In the 63rd minute Pastor Gitano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dida Taffarel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by German Cano in the 64th minute of play forced Figueira SC FSCMZ's goalkeeper Femke Bol to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dida Taffarel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Şakir Aydınoğlu, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. After a rather tough play, Figueira SC FSCMZ's Abelardo Veloso got a free kick in the 67th minute. In the 68th minute, Dadá Macedo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 69 minutes, Moussa Kabre managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Marquês de Herval's supporters crossed their fingers, but Moussa Kabre was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 70th minute, German Cano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Marquês de Herval's Dida Taffarel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Yuri Reis in the 71st minute of play. In the 77th minute, Şakir Aydınoğlu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Yuri Reis in the 80th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dida Taffarel prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Figueira SC FSCMZ's Yuri Reis in the 81st minute got a chance for a shot 81st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Marquês de Herval's goalie prevented a goal. After 81 played minutes Marquês de Herval got a freekick which was hit by Moussa Kabre. After 82 played minutes, Figueira SC FSCMZ's Bebeto Simão shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Dida Taffarel came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Figueira SC FSCMZ reached it. Dida Taffarel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pastor Gitano in the 85th minute of the match. In the 94th minute, German Cano ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Femke Bol was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-1. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Figueira SC FSCMZ had won after a very even match.
