Spectators: 41 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Club Athletico Paulistano's Fabinho dos Santos started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Samuel Fiúza showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rafinha Trancoso in the 3rd minute of the match. With his leg Acácio Lara managed to avoid a goal in the 5thth minute, when Gremio Viana's Jiang De fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 7 minutes into the match, Gremio Viana's goal looked a bit too open when Fabinho dos Santos came free, but Samuel Fiúza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 11th minute of the game Caetano Pelé made a throw-in which Fabinho dos Santos played forward. Club Athletico Paulistano's Acácio Lara played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jiang De in the 11th minute of play. Acácio Lara stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jiang De's shot from short distance in the 13th minute. In the 15th minute of the match Gremio Viana got a corner. Club Athletico Paulistano's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Augustin Panaiteanu ran over to the corner to take the kick. Haakon Brøndsel hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Jiang De fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Acácio Lara having to interfere. Club Athletico Paulistano were awarded a corner in the 29th minute after Gremio Viana's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Agnaldo Mattos took the corner. After taking down the ball on Club Athletico Paulistano's corner Agnaldo Mattos fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Samuel Fiúza quite easily take care of the ball. After a rather tough play, Club Athletico Paulistano's Rafinha Trancoso got a free kick in the 33rd minute. Jiang De's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Acácio Lara read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 41st minute of play. The supporters of Gremio Viana booed when Club Athletico Paulistano was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Haakon Brøndsel didn't get a good kick on the ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jiang De was the one to do the kick off. Acácio Lara showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jiang De in the 53rd minute of the match. Acácio Lara showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jiang De, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. Jiang De got in the 65th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Acácio Lara handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jiang De in the 70th minute of play forced Club Athletico Paulistano's goalkeeper Acácio Lara to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Club Athletico Paulistano's Fabinho dos Santos in the 71st minute got a chance for a shot 71st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Gremio Viana's goalie prevented a goal. Amado Melo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Acácio Lara having to make a save. Antonio Calisto struck a weak shot in the 85th minute. Acácio Lara didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gremio Viana. After having played for 88 minutes, Mohamed Ali Bomba managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gremio Viana's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mohamed Ali Bomba was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Carlos Luna recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Gremio Viana getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Fabrizio Crognale hit a great ball. Agnaldo Mattos was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 94th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
