The supporters of SLB TELHA booed when ATHLETICO PRaiano was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vitor Beckenbauer didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lisandro Festas was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Deilmison van Basten showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 21 minute of play. Denílson Magalhães could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 27th minute of the match, but Lisandro Festas made a huge save. The referee ignored SLB TELHA's protests and gave Ivo Campelo a yellow card for diving instead. After 40 played minutes SLB TELHA got a freekick which was hit by Ivo Campelo. In the 41st minute Ralf Albäck shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lisandro Festas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lisandro Festas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ralf Albäck in the 46th minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ivo Campelo to make the kick off. But to his dismay, Deilmison van Basten quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-0. In the 82ndth minute of the game Deilmison van Basten who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SLB TELHA's Lisandro Festas was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 84th minute, Denílson Magalhães managed to get in a good position for a shot. ATHLETICO PRaiano's supporters rose to their feet, but Denílson Magalhães was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lisandro Festas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Denílson Magalhães in the 86th minute of play forced SLB TELHA's goalkeeper Lisandro Festas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 88 minutes into the game, ATHLETICO PRaiano's Ralf Albäck nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Lisandro Festas made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 7-0.
