In the 22nd minute, Cai Yuan Yuan ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Willian Negri was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. Cai Yuan Yuan could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 25th minute of the match, but Willian Negri made a huge save. 27 minutes into the match, SAS's goalkeeper Willian Negri had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cai Yuan Yuan. Cai Yuan Yuan might have been able to make a better finish in the 29th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Willian Negri. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cai Yuan Yuan ran back to his position shaking his head. After having played for 30 minutes, Cai Yuan Yuan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. MZ Fénix's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cai Yuan Yuan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 33 minutes into the game, Luís Paulo Vinhas threw the ball into play from the sideline. MZ Fénix's Tomasz Waldoch quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Willian Negri made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cai Yuan Yuan in the 38th minute. MZ Fénix's Pankracy Zajonc played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oscar Mendonça in the 39th minute of play. After some careless play in the SAS defense, Cai Yuan Yuan kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Willian Negri. The SAS fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Willian Negri should have stopped the shot. In the 47th minute, Cai Yuan Yuan left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The MZ Fénix fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Willian Negri breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 79 minutes into the game, Cai Yuan Yuan cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 10-0. Willian Negri was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Willian Negri showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cai Yuan Yuan, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. After having played for 93 minutes, Cai Yuan Yuan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal.
