Fernando Courtois took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from José Paulo Mello, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Agro Imortal getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Mário Quirino hit a great ball. Cercadinho were awarded a corner in the 33th minute after Agro Imortal's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Roger Vianna took the corner. The corner led Cercadinho's Dito Tasso to fire away a dangerous shot which Fernando Courtois despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Through an outstanding action, after 35 minutes, Rogério Ceni successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 37 minutes had been played when some careless play by Cercadinho's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Valério Veiga was slow to take the kick. During this time Agro Imortal's players had a chance to rest. Agro Imortal's Valério Veiga was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Rogério Ceni in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 39th minute, Fausto Porto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rogério Ceni made an important save on a dangerous shot by Fausto Porto in the 43rd minute. Rogério Ceni showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dennis Bergkamp, who was totally free with the ball in the 49th minute. 49 minutes into the match, Cercadinho's goal looked a bit too open when Dennis Bergkamp came free, but Rogério Ceni reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

After some careless play in the Agro Imortal defense, Claudinei Pirani kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Fernando Courtois. The Agro Imortal fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fernando Courtois should have stopped the shot. Agro Imortal made a substitution. Wilian Gulak replaced Dennis Bergkamp. Agro Imortal's Durvalino Azevedo managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Dito Tasso in the 64 minute of the game. Jailson Mazza kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. Luizinho Pesquera might have been able to make a better finish in the 66th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rogério Ceni. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Luizinho Pesquera ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 68th minute, Wilian Gulak got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Cercadinho's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Luizinho Pesquera ran over to the corner to take the kick. Fernando Courtois stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of José Paulo Mello's shot from short distance in the 74th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wilian Gulak in the 77th minute of play forced Cercadinho's goalkeeper Rogério Ceni to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Wilian Gulak managed to get in a good position for a shot. Agro Imortal's supporters rose to their feet, but Wilian Gulak was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rogério Ceni breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Cercadinho's Valiente Venezian was substituted for José Paulo Mello. In the 85th match minute, Cercadinho was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Walmyr Félix to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bethel Raba in the 86th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rogério Ceni saved Cercadinho from getting behind. Claudinei Pirani could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 89th minute of the match, but Fernando Courtois made a huge save. 90 minutes into the match, Cercadinho's goal looked a bit too open when Wilian Gulak came free, but Rogério Ceni reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wilian Gulak in the 93rd minute of play forced Cercadinho's goalkeeper Rogério Ceni to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dito Tasso's late challenge caught a Agro Imortal's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dito Tasso helped the player get up and apologised. In the 95th match minute, Cercadinho was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dito Tasso to maneuver through the defense. Vitinho Peixoto charged in rather forcefully in the 97th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Vitinho Peixoto the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Vitinho Peixoto hit a great freekick 97 minutes into the match. Agro Imortal's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
