Spectators: 37 (Terracing: 29, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Eugen Lupea started the match with the kick off. Walter Zenga showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sandu Gheorghiu in the 4th minute of the match. Rosendo Seguinus took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dan Tinu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 10th minute Sandu Gheorghiu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Walter Zenga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rosendo Seguinus made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Costel Ţintă in the 11th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcel Petculescu in the 15th minute of play forced Scorpions -MM-'s goalkeeper Walter Zenga to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 18 played minutes Scorpions -MM- got a freekick which was hit by Dan Tinu. In the 21st minute, Augustin Vergulescu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Victor Huștiu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 22nd minute of the match, but Walter Zenga made a huge save. Eugen Lupea came free with the goalkeeper in the 25th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Walter Zenga could save by the left post. Walter Zenga showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sandu Gheorghiu, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. ASF BAIA MARE -MM-'s Rosendo Seguinus played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Costel Ţintă in the 29th minute of play. Radomir Zieba lost his temper 30 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. After 31 played minutes Scorpions -MM- got a freekick which was hit by Radomir Zieba. After having played for 32 minutes, Felix Vărzaru managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. ASF BAIA MARE -MM-'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Felix Vărzaru was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Walter Zenga made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sandu Gheorghiu in the 35th minute of play. Rosendo Seguinus came out of the goal in the 36th minute to try and stop a shot by Scorpions -MM-'s Costel Ţintă. But to his dismay, Costel Ţintă quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 39th minute Sandu Gheorghiu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Walter Zenga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dan Tinu kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. Walter Zenga was out of position in the 44 minute of play, and Eugen Lupea capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Eugen Lupea really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. Remus Vermeşan could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 48th minute of the match, but Walter Zenga made a huge save. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Costel Ţintă to make the kick off. After 51 played minutes Scorpions -MM- got a freekick which was hit by Dan Tinu. 53 minutes into the game, ASF BAIA MARE -MM-'s Sandu Gheorghiu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Walter Zenga made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. After 58 minutes of play, ASF BAIA MARE -MM-'s Eugen Lupea made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Walter Zenga was left in no man's land by his defense there! Scorpions -MM- made a substitution. Traian Uzuneanu replaced Augustin Vergulescu. Scorpions -MM- made a substitution. Octav Vătăşel replaced Dan Tinu. In the 63rd minute, Gigi Brânzaș made a precise shot to the right of Walter Zenga. Scorpions -MM-'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-1. In the 69th minute Eugen Lupea shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Walter Zenga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 71st minute of the match ASF BAIA MARE -MM- got a corner. Scorpions -MM-'s goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Felix Vărzaru ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on ASF BAIA MARE -MM-'s corner Felix Vărzaru fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Walter Zenga quite easily take care of the ball. 72 minutes into the match, ASF BAIA MARE -MM-'s Sandu Gheorghiu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Walter Zenga narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Walter Zenga took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Felix Vărzaru, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Scorpions -MM- defense, Felix Vărzaru kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Walter Zenga. The Scorpions -MM- fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Walter Zenga should have stopped the shot. Walter Zenga showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sandu Gheorghiu in the 80th minute of the match. A collision led to Scorpions -MM- getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Ştefan Cipău hit a great ball. In the 82nd minute Remus Vermeşan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Walter Zenga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Costel Ţintă managed to get in a good position for a shot. Scorpions -MM-'s supporters rose to their feet, but Costel Ţintă was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rosendo Seguinus breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 85 minutes into the match, Remus Vermeşan notched a goal, 7-1, to the right of Scorpions -MM-'s Walter Zenga. Walter Zenga was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Walter Zenga showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gigi Brânzaș, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. Scorpions -MM-'s Walter Zenga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sandu Gheorghiu in the 90th minute of play. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart.
