Los Hijos de Doña Beija's Higinio Aguilera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Silverio Tuste in the 5th minute of play. With a little luck, Newells Old Boys's Serafino Jurdan got control of the ball when Luís Fábio Rocha tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 10th minute André-Pierre Gignac shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Higinio Aguilera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 12 minutes Los Hijos de Doña Beija's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Elias Medeiros who took care of the corner kick. Higinio Aguilera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Silverio Tuste in the 14th minute of the match. Newells Old Boys's Serafino Jurdan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luís Fábio Rocha in the 25th minute of play. A collision led to Newells Old Boys getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. André-Pierre Gignac hit a great ball. Luís Fábio Rocha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Serafino Jurdan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Higinio Aguilera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Silverio Tuste's shot from short distance in the 32nd minute. A collision led to Los Hijos de Doña Beija getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Ciro Osasun hit a great ball. Los Hijos de Doña Beija's Kálmán Balogh quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Elias Medeiros, made in the 35th minute of the game. Luís Fábio Rocha received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Serafino Jurdan came out and tried to block the shot, but Luís Fábio Rocha slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 37th minute. Los Hijos de Doña Beija's Andrea Pirlo quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Elias Medeiros, made in the 40th minute of the game. After a defensive mix-up in Los Hijos de Doña Beija's zone, Horacio Errapel stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Higinio Aguilera came out of the goal and Horacio Errapel tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Serafino Jurdan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luís Fábio Rocha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

Los Hijos de Doña Beija's Jyrki Sillanpää was substituted for Flavio Iraunkor. Los Hijos de Doña Beija's Higinio Aguilera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 54th minute of the match, managed to save Los Hijos de Doña Beija from getting a goal against them. Los Hijos de Doña Beija made a substitution. Indiana Jones replaced Luís Fábio Rocha. Andrea Pirlo kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. After 63 played minutes Los Hijos de Doña Beija got a freekick which was hit by Ciro Osasun. After 68th play minutes Horacio Errapel shot 3-1, a short shot which went by Higinio Aguilera and just under the crossbar into goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Horacio Errapel got free with Higinio Aguilera in the 72nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A nice corner shot did that Elias Medeiros got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Higinio Aguilera quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Serafino Jurdan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Feliciano Haritzeder in the 75th minute of the match. Serafino Jurdan came out of the goal in the 75th minute to try and stop a shot by Los Hijos de Doña Beija's Feliciano Haritzeder. But to his dismay, Feliciano Haritzeder quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-1. Serafino Jurdan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jyrki Sillanpää, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Los Hijos de Doña Beija's Higinio Aguilera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Silverio Tuste in the 83rd minute of play. Indiana Jones sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Los Hijos de Doña Beija made a substitution. Argi Casta replaced Demy Ottens. In the 87thth minute of the game Indiana Jones who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Newells Old Boys's Serafino Jurdan was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 89 minutes, Adan Chinto mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Newells Old Boys and the Los Hijos de Doña Beija players grew even worse after the yellow card. Adan Chinto kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. 90 minutes into the match, Newells Old Boys's goal looked a bit too open when Indiana Jones came free, but Serafino Jurdan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Newells Old Boys booed when Los Hijos de Doña Beija was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ciro Osasun didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 94 minutes, Indiana Jones made it 5-1 with a short kick to the right side. Newells Old Boys's Serafino Jurdan tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mehmet Çağrı Yoran during the 97th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Mehmet Çağrı Yoran kicked well hit freekick during the 97th minute of the match. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Los Hijos de Doña Beija fully deserved thier win.
