Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. 詹俊 á Bø started the match with the kick off. With an all-out effort, A.A. Francana's Luiz Paulo Mazza threw himself towards the right post 3 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Charlie Boström, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Renan Melo came out of the goal in the 6th minute to try and stop a shot by Wellington Phoenix's 詹俊 á Bø. But to his dismay, 詹俊 á Bø quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zé Carlos Dias in the 15th minute of play forced A.A. Francana's goalkeeper Renan Melo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 18th match minute, Wellington Phoenix was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dadá do Nascimento to maneuver through the defense. In the 24th minute A.A. Francana were awarded a corner. Roman Koenig went to the cornerflag to take it. After some careless play in the A.A. Francana defense, 詹俊 á Bø kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Renan Melo. The A.A. Francana fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Renan Melo should have stopped the shot. Wellington Phoenix's Luiz Paulo Mazza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Charlie Boström in the 44th minute of play. After the first half Wellington Phoenix were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Charlie Boström stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 56 played minutes Wellington Phoenix got a freekick which was hit by Horácio Pedroso. An unexpectedly hard shot by Roman Koenig in the 57th minute of play forced Wellington Phoenix's goalkeeper Luiz Paulo Mazza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 61 minutes, 詹俊 á Bø made it 1-3 with a short kick to the right side. A.A. Francana's Renan Melo tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 65th minute of the match Wellington Phoenix got a corner. A.A. Francana's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Zé Carlos Dias ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Wellington Phoenix's corner Zé Carlos Dias fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Renan Melo quite easily take care of the ball. Charlie Boström scored 2-3 in the 71st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Luiz Paulo Mazza, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Luiz Paulo Mazza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Charlie Boström in the 75th minute of play. Francisco Secco kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. In the 77th minute, Dadá do Nascimento hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 80 minutes into the match, Wellington Phoenix's goal looked a bit too open when Roman Koenig came free, but Luiz Paulo Mazza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When 詹俊 á Bø came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the Wellington Phoenix fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that 詹俊 á Bø couldn't finish the play. Luiz Paulo Mazza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Charlie Boström, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 87 minutes into the match, Wellington Phoenix's 詹俊 á Bø sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Renan Melo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. A.A. Francana's defense didn't have a chance, in the 90th minute, when 詹俊 á Bø scored to the left of an out of position Renan Melo, making the score, 2-4. Wellington Phoenix's Luiz Paulo Mazza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Elliott Bergsten in the 94th minute of play. Elliott Bergsten scored 3-4 in the 94th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Luiz Paulo Mazza, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Wellington Phoenix's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
