Igor Cavalera might have been able to make a better finish in the 4th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Luiz Paulo Mazza. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Igor Cavalera ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 5th minute Igor Cavalera shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luiz Paulo Mazza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Wellington Phoenix getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Tomasz Waldoch hit a great ball. Alysson Rezende made an important save on a dangerous shot by 詹俊 á Bø in the 11th minute. In the 15th minute Igor Cavalera shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luiz Paulo Mazza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alysson Rezende was a little too slow when 詹俊 á Bø got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 21st minute. The score was now 2-0. 詹俊 á Bø received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Alysson Rezende came out and tried to block the shot, but 詹俊 á Bø slotted it home off the left post making it 3-0 in the 30th minute. 33 minutes into the match, Igor Cavalera notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of Wellington Phoenix's Luiz Paulo Mazza. Luiz Paulo Mazza was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Luiz Paulo Mazza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jerônimo Vergílio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luiz Paulo Mazza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Igor Cavalera in the 39th minute of play. 42 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ogro F.C.'s defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Luis Mikolas was slow to take the kick. During this time Wellington Phoenix's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Luis Mikolas almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Ogro F.C.'s Alysson Rezende did a great save. Patrick Matorin kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. Luiz Paulo Mazza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jerônimo Vergílio in the 47th minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-1.

Ogro F.C.'s Alysson Rezende played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zé Carlos Dias in the 51st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zé Carlos Dias in the 54th minute of play forced Ogro F.C.'s goalkeeper Alysson Rezende to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 64th minute Zé Carlos Dias shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alysson Rezende saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Wellington Phoenix getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Tadeu Zonta hit a great ball. Ogro F.C. made a substitution. Mike Mangini replaced Alex Van Halen. Luiz Paulo Mazza made a fantastic save in the 74th minute, when Mike Mangini sent off a good shot on target. Luiz Paulo Mazza didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Dan Zimmermann went, in the 75th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-3 was the resulting score. Luiz Paulo Mazza made an important save on a dangerous shot by Marco Minnemann in the 80th minute. In the 81st match minute, Ogro F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jerônimo Vergílio to maneuver through the defense. Wellington Phoenix made a substitution. Wellington Phoenix replaced 詹俊 á Bø. Jerônimo Vergílio hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. Marco Minnemann who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 85thth minute tested the skills of Luiz Paulo Mazza when he managed to save the team from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marco Minnemann in the 94th minute of play forced Wellington Phoenix's goalkeeper Luiz Paulo Mazza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 95 played minutes Ogro F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Tanek Poreda. Ogro F.C.'s Alysson Rezende played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tadeu Zonta in the 96th minute of play. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
