In the 4th minute Panagiotis Stamatas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Egun Pais saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Andy Cole received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Iker Hidalgo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Floresta Negra FC's Andy Cole was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 7th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. 10 minutes into the match, Floresta Negra FC's Andy Cole sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Iker Hidalgo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. A throw-in in the 36th minute of the game was made by Horácio Jacinto with Panagiotis Stamatas as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. The audience thought a goal was coming when Andy Cole got free with Iker Hidalgo in the 38th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 43 minutes into the match, Velho Barreiro FC's goalkeeper Iker Hidalgo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Andy Cole. When Andy Cole came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Floresta Negra FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Andy Cole couldn't finish the play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ferid Eker made a kick off. Egun Pais made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ferid Eker in the 54th minute. Iker Hidalgo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jardel Lewandowski in the 80th minute of the match. Velho Barreiro FC's Iker Hidalgo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jardel Lewandowski in the 88th minute of play.
