Régis de Queirós showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hernani Sousa in the 81st minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ferdi Saksø got free with Régis de Queirós in the 82nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Zemantauskas FC were awarded a corner in the 84th minute after Palmeiras's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Humberto Terra took the corner. Tarcisio Reis ran over to the corner to take the kick. If Luke Clist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jean Veloso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Palmeiras lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
