Alvi Verde's Téo Leite proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 3rd minute of the match, managed to save Alvi Verde from getting a goal against them. In the 7th minute, Pipis Dilberis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Zigmantas Gimbutas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 13 minutes had been played when some careless play by SC Braga's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Attila Kiss was slow to take the kick. During this time Alvi Verde's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Alvi Verde's corner Attila Kiss fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Laçın Cumayev quite easily take care of the ball. In the 15th minute Leandro Heidemann shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Laçın Cumayev saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Peker Suersan got a throw-in 25 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Rodolfo Perfecto. Laçın Cumayev made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leandro Heidemann in the 28th minute of play. Jerônimo de Alcântara made in the 30th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Peker Suersan immediately put the ball in play. Zigmantas Gimbutas blasted a shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Téo Leite having to make a save. Valdomiro Lira hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. Laçın Cumayev came out of the goal in the 36th minute to try and stop a shot by Alvi Verde's Rodolfo Perfecto. But to his dismay, Rodolfo Perfecto quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Laçın Cumayev took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leandro Heidemann, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With 46 minutes on the clock, Charl De Metser commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In the 47th minute, Charl De Metser hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Zigmantas Gimbutas was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rodolfo Perfecto in the 53rd minute of play forced SC Braga's goalkeeper Laçın Cumayev to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 54 minutes into the match, Alvi Verde's goal looked a bit too open when Zigmantas Gimbutas came free, but Téo Leite reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Laçın Cumayev made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rodolfo Perfecto in the 57th minute of play. In the 65thth minute of the game Zigmantas Gimbutas who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Alvi Verde's Téo Leite was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Laçın Cumayev showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rodolfo Perfecto in the 66th minute of the match. 71 minutes into the game, SC Braga's Zigmantas Gimbutas nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Téo Leite made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. SC Braga's Antonio Cieri was substituted for Benjamin de Lara. SC Braga made a substitution. Geraldo Lucas replaced André Jordão. 1-2 became the score in the 78th minute when Cuero Buseth elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Laçın Cumayev showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leandro Heidemann in the 80th minute of the match. After 93 played minutes Alvi Verde got a freekick which was hit by Peker Suersan. When Stig-Åke Mattsson came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the SC Braga fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Stig-Åke Mattsson couldn't finish the play. Alvi Verde's Téo Leite played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stig-Åke Mattsson in the 96th minute of play. The Alvi Verde supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Alvi Verde would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
